ResNET Policy
ResNET is provided to students in the residence
halls to support their academic work at Rensselaer. Since network
capacity is shared by all and is a limited resource, there are
some restrictions on how you may use ResNET. Your activities may
not make excessive demands on network resources; if your activities
have an inappropriate impact on others using the network, you
may be asked to modify your activities significantly, or you may
have your computer removed from the network. You may operate a
web server, if you so desire. In any event, all use of ResNET
must comply with the campus policy on electronic citizenship.
A summary of the policy appears in the Rensselaer Student Handbook.
