How Do I Use My STE Telephone?
If your phone looks like the one below, follow this user guide:
Standard Analog Telephone (STE)
Switchhook Flash:A switchhook flash means a momentary depression of the switchhook under the handset on an STE. All features must be initiated from dial tone; if you are in a conversation mode, a switchhook flash is required to obtain a dial tone. A switchhook flash is defined as a momentary pressing of the switchhook (1/2 to 1 second). This will result in the word "enter" being repeated 3 times, followed by normal dial tone. The desired feature code may be entered at any time after the switchhook flash. You do not have to wait for "enter" to complete.
