The vice president for strategic communications and external relations reports to the president and serves as an officer of Rensselaer. He is responsible for advancing public understanding and advocacy for Rensselaer, its educational opportunities and research discoveries, and its growing position of importance in science, technology, and public policy. He works closely with all other Institute portfolio leaders to create sophisticated communications vehicles in order to help the portfolios and Rensselaer to project consistent and coordinated external and internal messages, as well as a world-class Web presence. Walker, most recently was vice president for public affairs at Dartmouth College.
